Through organized sports, TEAM HOPE is a vehicle that can begin to speak into the hearts of our young people; teaching them character and self-discipline and self-control, and modeling the value of a servant’s heart. Many years ago, I was given a vision for The HOPE Center and TEAM HOPE, and as the vision develops and expands I realize that our programs are filling this void of fatherlessness. 

 

Our society is riddled with so many sad and troubling issues; yet, we thoroughly believe that at the root of all the darkness is an epidemic of fatherlessness! We are starting our third generation of Americans that do not have a value-centered, man of integrity filling the role of father.  Our young people can be directionless, disrespectful and entitled; these traits are the result of fatherlessness.  The lack of a man of character and integrity to speak into their young hearts and help them navigate this difficult world we live in; is obviously apparent (just turn on the evening news).

Unfortunately, organized sports has become big business in our country.  Young people who live in poverty do not have the opportunities to participate in organized sports, thus nearly sealing their fate to another generational cycle of poverty and all that poverty burdens people with; crime, violence, substance abuse, and incarceration. 

 

TEAM HOPE does not charge our players or their families one dime to participate on an AAU/Select sports team, and meals and transportation are provided for our TEAM HOPE Players.
